Meet the Lions
We are men and women of diverse ages and backgrounds united by our desire to be of service to the community. We choose the Lions because of the opportunity for creative grassroots community involvement backed by the highly respected Lions Clubs International. We are guided and motivated by the motto: WE SERVE
The Edmonds Lions Club was chartered in 1947, thirty years after the 1917 organizational meeting in Chicago of the very first Lions Club. We work diligently in partnership with Lions Clubs International, the Lions Club International Foundation, and our local community of Edmonds to render service where needed.
Two of our earlier programs were the establishment of the Sierra Park Path for the Blind in 1976, and, in 1988, the posting of American flags in downtown Edmonds on designated holidays during the year. These remain popular projects today. Currently we post about 325 flags throughout Edmonds. A 2016 Sierra Park upgrade included installation of a flag, flagpole, and dedication plaque.
Edmonds Lions Club commits to annual fundraising activities to support the local food bank and to fund college scholarships. We provide eyeglasses and hearing aides to those qualified based on income and, in cooperation with other clubs, we conduct free health screenings and provide community assistance in times of disaster.
AN INVITATION TO YOU
We strive to make a difference in the areas of community service about which the Lions are most passionate. For those who wish to help further the mission of the Edmonds Lions Club, please consider joining us for a meeting or assisting with a project. Perhaps you are interested in becoming a member. We would love to have you alongside us in serving this great community -- Edmonds!
